Project files

Oxrion can remember choices for a project in two small text files at the root of the project folder. Both are optional, both are plain text you can edit or commit to version control, and neither is ever copied into the protected output.

FileWhat it remembersWritten when
oxrion.ignoreFiles to leave outYou tick Remember these in oxrion.ignore while choosing files
oxrion.stampYour Stamp notesYou tick Remember these in oxrion.stamp in Stamp

Oxrion Desktop reads them automatically the next time you choose the same folder. It also reads them from inside a .zip archive, but it can only write them into a folder.

Lists the files and folders to leave out, one per line.

# Oxrion ignore — one path or glob per line. '#' starts a comment.
vendor/
config/settings.php
tests/*.php
app/**/cache
  • Every line is a path from the project root. Unlike a .gitignore, a name doesn’t match at other depths: config.php leaves out only the config.php at the root, not app/config.php.
  • A folder leaves out everything inside it — vendor and vendor/ mean the same.
  • * matches within one folder level (tests/*.php); ** matches any number of levels (app/**/cache).
  • Absolute paths and paths that leave the project (..) are ignored. So are blank lines and lines starting with #.
  • The same list is used when you protect and when you recover.

Version control folders (such as .git) and .env files are never protected or copied: they are on the never-copy list in Settings, which you can change. Other files whose names start with a dot, such as .htaccess, are handled like any other file.

Left-out files are not protected. Whether they are copied to the output as they are depends on Also copy non-protected files.

Stores your Stamp notes as key: value lines, so you don’t have to type them again.

name: My Project
company: My Agency
website: example.com
email: you@example.com
pid: true
sha1: true
generated: true
expiry: true

The last four lines turn the system notes on or off; only true turns one on. Saving a stamp file doesn’t change your plan: custom notes still need a paid plan or credits when you protect.

If some files couldn’t be protected, the output folder also gets OXRION-FAILED-FILES.txt, listing each file and the reason. Those files are left out of the output entirely — Oxrion never puts unprotected source where protected files should be.
