Recovery
Recovery restores a protected file back to its original source code. It’s your safety net: if you lose an original you protected, Recovery brings it back — as long as you have the key.
It works only on files encoded with Recovery mode enabled.
What you need
Section titled “What you need”Recovery is built around a keypair that only you control:
- The file must have been encoded with Recovery mode on, attached to a public key.
- To restore it, you provide the matching private key (64 characters, hex) — the one you saved when you created the keypair.
Oxrion never stores your private key, so you supply it each time. That’s also why only you can recover your files.
In the Cloud or offline
Section titled “In the Cloud or offline”Recovery is available two ways, and they do the same job:
- In Oxrion Cloud — paste or upload your private key and recover a file in your browser. You can recover a single file or a whole project (ZIP).
- As a standalone tool — download Recovery and run it on your own machine, completely offline. No account, no internet — restore a file from a backup years later, even on an isolated machine.
Either way, you provide your private key yourself; since Oxrion never stores it, keeping it safe is up to you.
